  2. Week 1 • Old hat, new hat • Words relating to the old or the new

  3. Antediluvian- adj • Very, very old; “before the flood”; out of date • Though the woman tried to be youthful, her antediluvian clothes pegged her for an older generation.

  4. Antiquated- adj • Very old and no longer in use; obsolete • The typewriter is a piece of antiquated equipment.

  5. Inception- noun • The start or beginning of something • Since the inception of the school year, Dylan has been a hard working student.

  6. Unprecedented- adj • Unequaled and unrivaled; head of the game • The number of colleges rivaling for her attention has been unprecedented.

  7. Week 2 • Is there anybody out there? Just nod if you can here me… • Words related to being hardly noticeable or sneaky

  8. Clandestine- adj • Hidden, secret, concealed • During the party, two students from English 11AP stole away into the woods for a clandestine rendezvous.

  9. Covert- adj • Secret, hidden • Very few students know that Alexandria is actually an FBI agent performing a covert mission at WiHi searching out aliens.

  10. Furtive- adj • Sneaky • Aliens are very furtive, cleverly disguising themselves to look like every day people.

  11. Inconspicuous- adj • Hardly noticeable • Aliens make themselves inconspicuous by staying quiet and reclusive, rarely will they be seen performing in school functions.

  12. Surreptitious- adj • Done or made in a secret way • Using surreptitious tactics, Alex has been able to infiltrate the alien world, thus saving all mankind.

  13. Week 3 • Who do you know? • Words relating to people you will meet in life.

  14. Adversary- noun • An opponent • In the volleyball match, Laura encountered a worthy adversary.

  15. Advocate- noun • A supporter; proponent • When she’s on the court, her biggest advocate is Jacquel.
