  1. Semantic Data Integrity Hypothesis and Objectives Technical Approach Advance automated policy based subsetting techniques. Apply protection mechanisms by identifying subsets and computing auxiliary information (DSI Mark). For image recovery, find integrity violations, and reconstruct. 1. Use of intelligent data subsetting methods can effectively and efficiently support integrity verification, data recovery and attack identification. 2. Watermarking and self-embedding methods can be employed to improve robustness, isolate integrity violations, and provide clues to intent. 3. Policy directed integrity methods can be effective. DSI Original Subsets Forged Experimentation & Transition Schedule (milestones) 1. We are developing software tools to support methods developed on this project. 2. We are collecting experimental results to aid in analyzing protection mechanisms -- including resource usage. 1. Advanced data subsetting techniques -- Apr. 2000 2. Generation and Verification of DSI marks --Aug. 2000 3. Reconstruction of Data -- Oct. 2000 4. Demonstration -- Dec. 2000 David Rosenthal, Odyssey Research Associates
