  3. Arnold Air Society • Arnold Air Society is a professional, honorary, service organization advocating the support of aerospace power

  4. Mission • To create a more efficient relationship among Air Force officer candidates • To recruit for the United States Air Force • To represent the corps and the Air Force to the campus and the community through service.

  5. Why Cadets Join • Numerous Leadership opportunities especially as underclassmen • Endless opportunities to serve the campus and the community…having fun! • Teamwork, Camaraderie, Friendship • A Society of 2800+ nationwide

  6. Silver Wings • "Knowledge, wisdom, and the courage to serve.” • Angel Flight began in 1952 • Silver Wings in the 1980’s • Membership badge

  7. Mission • Silver Wings (SW) is a national, co-ed, professional organization dedicated to creating proactive, knowledgeable, and effective civic leaders through community service and education about national defense.

  8. Why Cadets/Civilians Join • Objective #1 - Personal development through community service. • Objective #2 - Professional development through leadership and professional opportunities. • Objective #3 - Civic awareness through military exposure and education.

  9. Area/Region 7 Demographics • AY 2008-2009 • Squadrons – 14 • Active Members – 293 • Chapters – 5 • Active Members – 51

  10. Service Projects • 30,000 total service hours • 50% JNP • Squadron service participation rate • 50% inter-squadron • 90% joint-Silver Wings (squadrons with chapters only) • 75% community partnership
