  2. How does gas leaks occur and how to detect it? Gas leaks can occur from faulty gas appliances or pipework. Natural gas and Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) aren't poisonous, but both can lead to fires and explosions. Below are the followings signals for gas leaks: You hear a whistling sound coming from where your gas lines are You smell a sulfur-like odor You see dust blown around outside near where your gas line is Have a carbon monoxide detector in your home so that it can signal to you if it suspects dangerous levels Check your gas bill and see if it is higher than normal

  3. What are the precautions we can take for a gas leak ? If leak is indoors, open all windows and doors, to disperse the gas. Turn off all naked flames and eliminate all sources of ignition BUT do not turn electrical switches on or off. In the case of cylinders, disconnect the cylinder and move it outdoors to an open area. If the leak cannot be stopped, evacuate the premises and call fire brigade services.
