  1. Catch A Celebrity Your online source to finding your favorite celebs out on the town.

Statement of Need • No real website devoted to this kind of info • Domain name=www.catchacelebrity.com • Sites like JustSpotted (Android app) are similar but interfered with Twitter’s real time search access. • Therefore cannot use features on Twitter and are not connected to the social media site anymore. • No website with the URL www.justspotted.com • Celebrity Tracker site requires a “sign in.” • Provides no information otherwise. • Most sites only provide relevant info for where celebrities hang out or could be seen based on past appearances…not where they actually are at that moment.

  3. Why Create Catch A Celebrity? • There would be no site like ours. There will always be other sites with similar intentions but the purpose of Catch A Celebrity is to allow an everyday person access to a site with no sign-up or registration required for first 20 visits, that provides up-to-date info on the location of a celebrity at that moment. • There is no guarantee that by the time a fan got there their celebrity would be waiting it but it provides the tools to capture the chance of meeting a famous person. • The “tracking” would be done by a staff of 10-15 depending on the location. Los Angeles and New York would be the top 2 desired tracking locations. • Staff in each area would work as paparazzi do on finding out where and when a celebrity is going to appear and provide the address on our site, including a picture if possible. • Instead of always seeing a picture of your favorite movie star the next day in the tabloids our site would tell you when and where that picture is being captured.

  4. We are trying to provide as much info for the fan as possible. Because we know that without the fans a celebrity would be a nobody. • Catch A Celebrity is targeted for all ages but would expect to have a target audience from about 13-30. • We hope to be the “go-to” site for celebrity sightings. • Apart from staff we will rely on citizen journalism to report in any findings that they have on our website using a comment button. • There will obviously be some issues with the credibility of this feature, however, if our staff permits we will try to fact check each sighting and mark it with a check mark once it is has been verified if possible.

  5. How to Reach Our Consumers • We will use advertisements to help fund our site as well as to promote what our website does and offers. • We hope to work with Perez Hilton and http://celebrity-sightings.popsugar.com when it comes to ads, seeing as how our interests are similar.

  6. How Celebrity Trackers Makes $$ • By using a 468x60 banner • Impression basis—(being displayed to a user once) • Charging $50/month to have a banner on our site • *If technique is failing we would switch to a CPC (cost per click) tactic.

  7. Staff • Our staff is knowledgeable when it comes to knowing the ins and outs of celebrity life and culture. • Location is also key. Being based in either NY or LA. • 10-15 photographers-shooting photos of celebs on the scene • 2 website managers- handle the website account/making sure content goes up in a timely manner • 1 person who will watch the citizen comment button and reports out to the photographers (unpaid interns) • * When trying to gain popularity, we will rely on any volunteers that want to work on sighting a celebrity.

  8. Equipment Costs • Required for all staff: Macintosh computers • Photographers-Digital SLR camera ($500 roughly). • Domain Name= $9.99 for first year

Budget • Revenue: • Ads/Impressions--$50/ad x 10 ads x 1year + 1000 x .50 x 12= $12,000 • Subscriptions-- $39.99 x 500=19,995 –(1st 20 or so visits are free after that paid subscription required). • Total Revenue= 31, 995 • Expenditure: • Staff—($7.25 x 8hrs x 5days x 52weeks)2=$30, 160 • Leftover: $1,835

  10. Privacy • Would privacy be an issue? • From our standpoint No! • Our staff works just like any paparazzi would • Freedom of public information • We would still enforce a journalistic code of ethics on our staff.

  11. Summary • Obviously this is a rough outline of what/how this business would do. • The revenue would be slightly larger than the expenditure. • Overtime, we would work on gaining traffic and money. Later on being able to increase salaries.
