3. High Priest • High Priests were at the top of the social pyramid • They were well respected • They gave prayers and were very religious

4. Warriors • Warriors were second on the pyramid • They fought on horseback • They used copper, stone, and bronze weapons

5. Princes • They were second like warriors • They were the rulers but weren’t as important as priests • They were also military leaders

6. Islam • Islam and the Hindus have a long hatred • Islam invaded the Hindus • They have two very different religions

7. Instruments • Instruments produced raga • Raga helps give a meditative state • Raga is made at certain times

8. Social Pyramid • The Hindus had something called the caste system • This is there social pyramid • There were 4 castes

9. Farmers • Farmers were low in the caste system • They grew crops and raised cattle • They helped the traded by making crops

10. Merchants • Merchants were also low • They sold crops and cattle made by farmers • They helped with trade

11. Servants • Servants were the lowest in the caste system • They worked for people • They did things like clean or help the farmers

12. India • India is the birth place of Hinduism • This culture was made up by Aryans • The Aryans were a group that moved to India in 1500 b.c.

13. Indus River • The Indus river is located in India • This is the place were the Aryan settled • This is the place were Hinduism started

14. Untouchables • These people were so low they were not a caste • They had there own fountain • If someone talks to a untouchable they become one

15. Ponds • Ponds were used to perform prayers • They also were used to hold ceremonies • Priests often prayed in ponds

16. Rebirth • They believed you were reborn • If you lived a good life you were born in a higher class • You could be a duck and reborn as a person
