What is Outcome Measurement? • Outcome measurement systems are used to: • Enhance the quality of services; • Improve management practices; • Support continuous improvement and organizational/departmental evaluation; and, • Assess the utility and/or success of policies, plans and programs. • Outcome measurement looks at organizational success from a holistic, more global perspective.

  4. What are the Uses of Logic Models? Developing new programs to meet specific objectives Demonstrating how a program achieves outcomes Defining performance (outcome) measures

  5. Logic Models as a Road Map Where are you going? How will you get there? What will tell you that you’ve arrived? A logic model is your program ROAD MAP

Anatomy of a Goal Statement • Begin with “To” and a verb • Say generally what the service area or division DOES • Identify the customer/”recipient of impact” (which can be an organization) • State why a service area or division EXISTS • Be associated with an OUTCOME indicator (statement of accomplishment) Goal statement template To provide/produce (service, program or product)to/for (customer/organization) in order to (statement of accomplishment). Goal statement example To create and provide opportunities for all customers to enhance educational and personal enrichment throughout a lifetime.
