A STRONG PRESENCE ON THE RESEARCH AND HIGHER EDUCATION FRONT P. 02 ●ICNRS works in partnership with Research and Higher Education Centers (PRES), universities, engineering and management schools, as well as with other research organizations ●IIt actively participates in the creation of large higher education and research sites ●ICNRS is a founding member of the five research alliances: Aviesan (life sciences), Ancre (energy), Allistene (digital sciences), Allenvi (environment) and Athena (humanities and social sciences) ●ICNRS is a key player in the French government’s « Investments for the Future » program

It has set up 15 joint research units and 48 associated research laboratories with businesses. ●I With a portfolio of 4,521 patent families, CNRS is among France’s top 10 patent filers. ●I704 start-ups have been launched since 2000, stemming from research carried out in CNRS laboratories ●I CNRS plays an active role in France’s 14 technology transfer companies (SATT)
