Opening Address by the Principal at the Initiation Ceremony of the “Knotting Hearts Action for Resisting Drugs Campaign”「同心結力抗毒大行動」啟動禮校長致辭 Date: 17-12-10 • Good morning, fellow teachers and students. To promote healthy lifestyle in the Environmental Education Week and echo the anti-drug campaign launched by the Education Bureau, our school has joined the “Knotting Hearts Action for Resisting Drugs Campaign”「同心結力抗毒大行動」. We have to be aware of the perilous effects of drug abuse and make sure that all of us should say ‘no’ to drug. Aiming at creating a hygienic, healthy and drug-free environment, a whole-school anti-drug education campaign is launched. In this campaign, we will put on a Yellow and Blue double-coloured knots to show our determination to resist drugs. We called it the ‘Heart Knot’ 同心結. Knot may mean unity or insurmountable difficulties. Heart stands for love. In other words, it is a love knot. It symbolizes that ‘We love’, ‘We unite’ and ‘Together we overcome all problems and have the courage to meet any adversities’. Last of all, may I wish all of you ‘a Healthy Living, a Happy Life’ and always remember to say ‘NO’ to Drug 拒絕毒品 健康人生. Thank You. • Supplementary Information on the Meaning ofthe ‘Heart Knot’ in Chinese • 同心結的英譯是 The Heart Knot。結與 Knot 一樣是多義詞。既可以指大家團結一心,齊齊參與;也可指難解之結,需要努力開解;還可指愛心之結(Love Knot),真心關愛下一代。
