E1 VQ4 • imperative (adj) – of vital importance; mandatory; crucial; essential or urgent • apprehensive (adj) – anxious or fearful that something unpleasant will happen; uneasy • zealous (adj) – having or showing dedication or devotion; eager • uncanny (adj) – out of the ordinary; strange or mysterious, especially in an unsettling way • precariously (adv) - in a dangerous position, not securely held, and likely to fall or collapse; dependent on chance; uncertain • prudence (n) – cautiousness; careful awareness • proposition (n) – a suggested scheme or plan of action, especially in a business context • quarry (n) – hunted animal(s); prey • attribute (tv) – to regard (something) as being caused by (someone or something); to give credit or blame to (someone/something) • harbor (tv) – to give a home or shelter to (someone/something); to keep (a thought or feeling, typically a negative one) in one’s mind, especially secretly • ennui (n) – a feeling of listlessness, lack of energy, and/or dissatisfaction arising from lack of excitement, occupation or interest • repast (n) – a meal; a feast, typically after a long period of being hungry
