  1. Tail of the GekkoBimmers on International Talk Like a Pirate Day • When: Saturday, September 13th at 10am • Where: Five Guys, Shoppes at Midway, Knightdale, NC (Intersection of I-540 and US-64) • Who: Rob McIsaac is organizing the event. • What: • We're going to celebrate International Talk Like a Pirate Day by having a trek from the east side of Raleigh out to the Buckhorn Lake Reservoir, located near the city of Wilson. • This includes some marvelous roads including something I like to call "Tail of the Gekko". None will confuse it with "Tail of the Dragon" or Deal's Gap, but it is nice driving nonetheless, with some great turns! • We'll have a picnic at Buckhorn Lake, then swing back through Wilson and Johnston Counties on our way to one of the highlights of Selma, NC ... the Hula Girl Ice Cream Shop. • If folks are too full for ice cream, or are inclined to have a cultural rather than a culinary experience, we can head over to the Ava Gardner Museum in Smithfield. • We'll go rain or shine ... there are picnic enclosures at Buckhorn Lake that should work either way. • How Long: Total drive is ~100 miles / 2.5 hours plus time to explore sites. Complete event can be done in ~4 hours. Mileage is full round trip from Shoppes at Midway in Knightdale. • Contact Information: For details, connect with Rob McIsaac at Robert.McIsaac@gmail.com or 919-880-8012.
