  4. Form of Writing: Simulated Journal • Pretending to take the role of a historical/famous person or a character. • Create a journal entry from that person’s point of view. • Entries in the journal should include details and/or facts about that particular person.

  5. Stage of Writing: Prewriting • Gather Ideas/ Brain Storm • Inform yourself or the audience about your character • Use resources to find information about your character/historical person • Complete the graphic organizer by including important words and phrases

  23. June 14, 1777 Dear Diary, Today was a happy but scary day. Today the flag I made was adopted by Congress. I thought for sure that if England found out that a new flag was taking the old one’s place something bad would happen. But I’m happy because I am the maker of the first American flag and I’m only 25 years old!
