  3. Summary Overview- UdZ (27th/2008) • WP0 (new duties assumed by UdZ) • WP1 (ready to finish) • WP1.1 Lyon coordination. UdZ final document ready on next report (according with conclusions of technical session 1) • WP1.2 Certification tools and analysis of current normative • WP1.5 New objectives • WP2 (on going for the next two years) • WP2.1 Data collecting starting last week. Works in collabora-tion with EVZ and Endesa • WP2.2 Evaluation, certification of monitored buildings in Valdespartera and analysis of experimental data. • WP2.3 New objectives • WP3 (ready to finish) • WP4 & WP5 (new duties assumed by UdZ)

Works in collabo-ration with EVZ and Endesa. Most of work to be done • WP2.2 Valdespartera buildings evaluation (mostly done). Coordination with WP1.2 . It will be finished next period) • WP2.3Data validation to be done next months. Monitoring will be prepared also for Picarral and specific buildings • WP3Phase 3 will be completed next year • WP4 & WP5 (new duties assumed by UdZ)

Summary (27th/2008) WP1 • WP1.2 Certification tools and analysis of current normative • Software development for quick evaluation and optimization: Meteo (ecobuildings) and URSOS (urban sustainability) (ongoing). • Climate data performed for the first real TRY in Aragón. • Buildings evaluation with different tools: dynamic calculations with TSBI3 -Bsym-, Energy Plus, Lyder and Calener, compared with static calculations made with Meteo and URSUS. • Buildings analysis (in Valdespartera and out) to verify if certifica-tion procedures are working or need some modifications. • 18 months program: • Software evaluation and comparison including certification tools and optimization tools (ß version) • Conclusions about ecobuildings evaluation

  6. Summary (27th/2008) WP1 (Urbic) • WP1.2 • Completed calculations of thermal and electrical demands of Zaragoza. Raising various scenarios of uncertainty: Energy demand more or less than expected (depending on level of bioclimatic design), in order to analyze the feasibility of energy services in adverse scenarios (WP1.4). • WP1.3 • Started work on the availability of biomass in the surroundings of Zaragoza, there aren´t significant results at the moment. • WP1.4 • Very advanced feasibility study of ESCO company, energy service company that invests in energy generation plants with high efficiency to supply end users in the residential sector. • Completed the technical-economic analysis of different options; analyzed sensitivity to adverse scenarios. • Advanced financial analysis, legal and social, prior to the constitution of ESCO company.

CENER Activities during the period 2007-2008 • “Especificaciones técnicas colegio Candido Domingo para Tragsa W.P.1.2 Report Cener 06” Este informe contiene las especificaciones que debe de cumplir el colegio publico Candido Domingo que se va a rehabilitar, situado en el barrio de “El Picarral”, para cumplir simultáneamente con la nueva normativa vigente, CTE , y los compromisos adquiridos con la Comisión Europea en el Proyecto conjunto Renaissance, y reflejados en el anexo 1 del contrato firmado con la misma. Se analizan las soluciones constructivas propuestas por la empresa encargada de la ejecución de la rehabilitación para que las especificaciones técnicas que debe cumplir, desde el punto de vista térmico, se ajusten simultáneamente a las condiciones recogidas por Renaissance, y a la normativa actual vigente (CTE). • “Analisis de la implantacion de PV en el colegio Candido Domingo W.P.1.2 Report Cener 07” Este informe analiza las posibles soluciones de dimensionamiento y geometría que se pueden adoptar en la instalación de un campo de paneles fotovoltaicos conectados a red, situado sobre la cubierta plana del edificio secundario del colegio público Cándido Domingo, en el barrio del Picarral.

CENER Activities during the period 2007-2008 “Análisis de producción de los PV en el colegio Cándido Domingo W.P.1.2 Report Cener 08” Este informe analiza la producción eléctrica estimada del proyecto de instalación fotovol-taica conectada a red, situada sobre la cubierta plana del edificio secundario del colegio público Cándido Domingo, en Picarral. • “Evaluación energética del Cándido Domingo. Resultados de las simulaciones. W.P.2.2” Este informe plasma los resultados de las simulaciones realizadas con el programa Energy Plus, del colegio público Cándido Domingo tanto en su fase antes de rehabilitación como después de ella. Se comparan resultados de los consumos en ambos escenarios.

Summary (27th/2008) WP1 • WP1.5Alternative procedure to the previous methodology • We will start with the results o a survey of 1200 people and will use the same test with an intensive work with selected groups with the support of blogs and forum in Internet • Selection of 15/18 buildings in Valdespartera and 2/3 in Picarral to develop the following actions: • Definition of people interested in the project • General presentations • Workshops with small groups (meeting groups) • Formation/information to interested people • Organisation of visits to selected sites • …/… • Program for 18 months and a final semester to evaluation

  14. Infrastructure progress • The control nodes are being installed. They will be interconnected and integrated in a local web server to produce raw material of data. • This documents will allow after data reduction and statistics the analysis of comfort situation to be cross-related with data consumption once corrected in relation with the standard climate year.   15. Infrastructure progress • The procedures standardisation has started last week by getting data with a local data logger in buildings 12 and 17. On November the “red local de telemando” will start being tested with these and other monitored buildings

  16. Infrastructure progress • Gas and electricity consumption by dwelling will be measure in coordination with comfort measures in order to achieve the experimental energy balance. All data collected are anony-mous. • The DHW consumption will be obtained for representative dwelling blocks from the records of company bill. The total contributions will be measure comparing DHW consumption with the represen-tative consumption. • All these measures will be obtained from agreements with partners (Endesa by their position in Renaissance and Viterra by private treaty)

Summary (27th/2008) WP2 • WP2.2Building simulation and performance • Information relative to the constructive elements of the dwelling blocks of each parcel has been provided by architects and / or the builders of the plots to start the simulation and certification process. • As a first step it is checked that the data are consistent with those stipulated in the partial plan. If the constructive elements are changed these new materials must fulfil to the superior features of the partial plan. • As the second step energy building simulation is made for each building with TSBi3 and EnergyPlus. • We provide recommendations to new buildings in order to optimize results when actions are possible. • Certification of buildings using the criteria of the certification program officer LIDER/CALENER

  18. Blower Laboratory Tests • Lab tests have been done previous to a series of measures performed in Picarral and others to be done in Valdespartera. • So that we will verify the impact of new normative for the quality or indoor air. • Also a lab cell has been implemen-ted to check the thermal transmi-ttance of materials, windows and constructive elements when this information is not available.

New Website for dissemination • It has designed a web portal that will serve as a source of information, con-sultation and direct interaction with stake-holders, technicians and others interested in the Renaissance project. • This web portal will cover a part of the new dissemination responsibilities of UdZ and will contribute to cover the 1.5 objectives improving the validity of conclusions by incorporating a system for exchanging information with re-sidents and will set up a blog that citizen participation is expected. • The aim of all this is to present infor-mation organized by hierarchical way, so that it adapts to the different types of users who consult the information.

New Website for dissemination • The information is divided basically into two sections • Renaissance Project • Valdespartera residents • Renaissance Section: • Will be made mainly for technicians, students and institutions that want to know the criteria for the urban design, the bioclima-tic criteria and energy effi-ciencyfor the ecobuildings and urban sustainability in Valdespart.

New Website for dissemination • Residents section: • Detailing the commitments ma-de by the university, regarding the processing of data. • Giving information and advising about a correct use of their ecobuildings in order to reduce energy consumption. • This section will provide a public space to express opi-nions, criticism and any question in relation with the monitorig of buildings and the results once obtained.

UdZ’s future activities onDissemination and Training • Will continue with the activities of general and university education initiated in accordance with the objectives of WP 5.2 and 5.3 • Will be completed activity on the WWW page. • Will collaborate, depending on the available budget, with the coordinator of WP 5.2 in the corresponding events. • Will be prepared, coordinated with the head of WP 5.3, a plan to spread the observer.

CENER activities for the next period 2008-2009 • “Especificaciones técnicas de las viviendas de “El Picarral” Segunda fase Report Cener 09” Este informe contendrá las especificaciones que deberán cumplir las viviendas a rehabilitar de “El Picarral” para cumplir simultáneamente con la normativa CTE y los compromisos adquiridos con la Comisión Europea en el Proyecto conjunto Renaissance, y reflejados en el anexo 1 del contrato firmado con la misma, en el caso de que se acometa esta segunda fase. • “Evaluación energética del colegio público Cándido Domingo. Informe final. W.P.2.2 Report Cener 05” Se recogerán los resultados de las comparaciones realizadas entre los consumos reales del colegio público Cándido Domingo durante su periodo de funcionamiento y los resultados de las simulaciones realizadas con el programa Energy Plus, antes de rehabilitación. analizando discrepancias
