  2. ABOUT Antonio Giovinazzi is another driver in the Ferrari Academy. The Italian driver will be partnered by F1 veteran, Kimi Raikkonen. Giovinazzi will be the first Italian driver in Formula One since Jarno Trulli in 2011. Giovinazzi made his racing debut in 2012 for Formula Pilota China, winning it that year. A year later, he raced in the FIA Formula 3 European championship. He remained there for 2014 and 2015 before moving to the GP2 Series in 2016. In 2017, he took part in two races for Sauber, covering for an injured Pascal Wehrlein. Finally, in 2018, he took on the role of test driver for Sauber and Ferrari.

  4. ONTRACK ACHIEVEMENTS Giovinazzi finished second in the 2015 Formula 3 European Championship. He scored his first points in Bahrain 2013 and a maiden podium only came in 2015 at Hockenheim. He followed it up with another podium in Austria in Race 1, before winning Race 3. All in all, he took eight wins in his FIA Formula 3 European Championship career. Giovinazzi finished his final season in 2nd, losing to Felix Rosenqvist. In GP2, he bagged five wins and three podiums to finish runner up again. This time, he lost to Pierre Gasly, who would go on to race in F1 in 2017. Out of the two F1 races, Giovinazzi took part in, he finished 12th in Australia and retired in China.
