  2. Event Summary • 2012 JPC • 49thAIAA/ASME/SAE/ASEE Joint Propulsion Conference and Exhibit • 15-17 July 2013 • San Jose Convention Center, CA

Solid Rocket Abstract Submittal Summary • Great response for volunteers for reviewing abstracts and being session chairs – Thank you! • Received 45 Abstracts • Assigned 2-3 reviewers for each one in addition to my review • One Submitted incorrect area and moved to Hybrid Propulsion • 43 have been reviewed. • One may be moved or rejected depending on decisioner’s decision. • One paper rejected for poor quality. • Awaiting three reviewers feedback. • One ITAR Paper ( will liaise with Liquid and Hybrid rocket TACs to see if this paper can be included in a joint ITAR session)

Solid Rocket Abstract Submittal Summary • Response is very similar to last year (Brackets Last year) • 29 abstracts from outside US • Brazil 1 (0) • Canada – 3 (1) • China – 2 (7) • France – 5 (1) • India – 0 (1) • Israel – 0 (2) • Italy – 7 (6) • Japan – 5 (6) • Korea – 3 (3) • Turkey – 2 (2) • South Africa 3 (0) • 14 abstracts from US

  5. Additional Sessions • It has been requested that TCs include a session for none specialists to attract Acedemia and more casual attendees. The following session is proposed with the theme Internal ballistic modelling progress: • Internal Ballistic Modelling ( 20 min) • Internal Ballistics Historic Perspective (20 min) • Current State of the Art (20 Min) • 20 min Panel. • Any Volunteers? SRTC to decide whether to pursue these sessions. • J Majdalani has request a session in hour of some Ariane V veterans ( M Prevost) who are retiring. Based on their speciality fields the following session is proposed: • Experimental Combustion Instability Devices (J Spurling) • Ariane V Combustion Instability Experimental Investigations (Ariane V group M Prevost ) • Combustion Instability Data Analysis Recent Advances (W Rousseau) • 20 Min Panel

  6. Additional Activities • Accept/Reject last of the abstracts • Enter Sessions into system • Assign Session Chairs/Cochairs • Schedule days for each session • Authors' to be contacted if additional sessions are approved by TC.
