  2. Sir Isaac Newton • English scientist in 1687. • He believed that there were 3 basic principles that govern all objects.

  3. Newton’s 3 Laws • Newton’s 1st Law—An object will stay at rest unless acted upon by an outside force. An object will stay in motion unless acted upon by an outside force.

  4. Newton’s 3 Laws • Newton’s 2nd Law—Force is equal to mass times acceleration.

  5. Newton’s 3 Laws • Newton’s 3rd Law—For every action there is an equal or opposite reaction.

  6. Parts of a rocket • Casing—The body of the tube. • Cone—The top of rocket.

  7. Parts of a rocket • Fins—Four parts at base of rocket for control. • Throat—The inside center of the rocket.
