AIMS (General Objectives): • - to affirm participants sense of their own cultural heritage • - to create consciousness of the own cultural identity • - to promote a tolerance of cultural diversity • - to encourage social integration • - to develop self-esteem and self-confidence through encouraging a multi-disciplinary approach to language learning

  4. OBJECTIVES • - to facilitate participants to develop or improve a proficiency in a foreingne language by providing appropriate communication skills and learning experiences. • -to improve verbal interpersonal language communication by a multi-disciplinary approach (visit of local and regional monuments, craft/dance/theatre/music workshops, ethnic cooking, video/photography workshops, interaction with local Medias) • - to meet the otherpartners (teachers and students) face to face. • - to learn about cultural differences in Europe.

  7. Cultural activities • Field trips to places for local interest •  Art&draft workshops •  Music/dance workshops, performance •  Ethnic cookery •  Photography/video production •  Inter-action with local media

  8. IT-activites • E-mail, chat-room, on-line conferencing between participants from each centre • Use of language based IT-software • Create a website to facilitate/encourage interaction between participating student groups

  9. TARGET GROUPS Teachers and adult learners of a second and foreign language in a multi-cultural setting.

  10. ENVISAGED RESULTS/PRODUCTS • Produce materials for language teachers for use in their own multi-cultural teaching situations (website, CD-ROM, video) • Create a user-friendly, sustainable methodological model for use by interested parties
