  3. Psalm 71:9-12 “Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth. (10) For mine enemies speak against me; and they that lay wait for my soul take counsel together,”

  4. (11) Saying, God hath forsaken him: persecute and take him; for there is none to deliver him. (12) O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste for my help.”

  5. (13) Let them be confounded & consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonour that seek my hurt.”

  7. The fact is that in our modern society, youth is glorified and age is something you try to hide. • Female Hollywood actors can pretty well expect to be out of a job at about age 40. • Hollywood is not the only industry that ignores the talents and skills of the elderly.

Fear Of Getting Old? “Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.” Psalm 71:9 "Every man desires to live long, but no man wants to be old.” Jonathan Swift Health fails, the mind becomes forgetful, and our life in general slows down, either voluntarily or of necessity.   9. How Christian View Aging? Respect for the aged: "Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honor the face of the old man" (Lev. 19:32). "The hoary head is a crown of glory; It shall be found in the way of righteousness." (Pro. 16:31). "The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the grey head." (Pro. 20:29)

  10. How Christian View Aging? There is a danger that we consider ourselves no longer useful to the church or society: Noah was six hundred years old Moses was eighty before he returned to Egypt to lead Israel out of bondage. History has shown us that many an artist, poet, or composer was just reaching their peak in life in their sixties, seventies, and even their eighties or nineties.

  11. How Christian View Aging? There is a danger that we consider ourselves no longer useful to the church or society: There are too many godly men and women who, upon retirement from their lifelong careers, retire from the Lord's work as well. God did not tell us to remain faithful until we retire, but "unto death" (Rev. 2:10).

  12. Fear Of Getting Old? "It is true that youth is faster, but it is also true that age is more accurate.“ Life is a gift to you. The way you live your life is your gift to those who come after.

Are You Wayward? “Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.” (Acts 8:22) “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” (James 5:16)
