Introduction • There are a group of verbs that change their stem, except in the nosotros and vosotros forms. e → ie o → ue e → i Empezar Dormir Servir (to star) (to sleep) (to serve) Yo empiezo duermo sirvo Tú empiezas duermes sirves Ud.,él,ella empieza duerme sirve Nosotros/as empezamos dormimos servimos Vosotros/as empezáis dormís servís Uds.,ellos/as empiezan duermen sirven

Examples of e→ ie • Here are some commonly used verbs and their present form conjugation: Cerrar (to close): Cierro, cierras, cierra, cerramos, cerrais, cierran Entender (to understand): Entiendo, entiedes, entiende, entendemos, entendeis, entienden Querer (to love, to want): Quiero, quieres, quiere, queremos, quereis, quieren
