  4. Compare All together there where 3654 deaths between the two army's. That may not sound like much but the population in Montvale in about 7000 meaning half the people in Montvale if fighting in the war would die.

  5. Nature of the Battle The reason why the Battle of Antietam was so important is because they stopped the invasion of the north but at a great price. Is is considered the bloodiest day in Americas history The battle started 6 am and ended at about 4:30 when lee retreated
