  2. Code Enforcement Division Mission The mission of the City of Gainesville Enforcement Division is to enrich and/or preserve the quality of life and property values through voluntary compliance with local code using proactive education and enforcement.

  7. Specialty Assignments • One officer assigned to address dangerous buildings and hazardous lands to support all officers citywide • Enforces the standards for: • Repair • Vacate • Demolition • Board and Seal and • Abatement

Typical Enforcement Process • Verbal/Education Warning • Door Tags/Written Warnings • Includes a fair and reasonable time to comply • City Ordinance Citation – Instant Penalty • Notice of Violation • Code Enforcement Board Hearing • Daily Fines – Penalties accumulate until compliance is achieved
