  1. 2005 20th Annual Carpentry Apprentice Contest N.C. Department of Labor Apprenticeship and Training Bureau NC State Fair Carpentry Contest Cherie K. Berry Commissioner Brenda Saunders Apprenticeship and Training Bureau Chief

  2. The five-hour contest project consisted of residential and commercial building methods. The apprentice was required to read a blueprint in order to construct the project in a manner to demonstrate skills learned through training.

  3. The projects were judged based on the following criteria • Productivity • Interpretation of project • Neatness • Efficient use of materials • Square • Dimensions • Availability and care of required tools and equipment • Safety
