  3. Major Developments at NUST • NUST-Caltech Collaboration set world record for Network Data Transfer • NUST – Stanford Won Research grant in partnership with BrightSpire and APPNA • Nokia Research China Awarded research funding to NUST-SEECS • KTH Sweden-NUST SEECS win research grant

  4. Program for BRIGHT children from families with income group <15000/= PM will be offered in August @ Rs 500/= per child

Action takenLast CAC meeting (08 December 2007) Industry seminars/workshops A one-day workshop on LabVIEW and National Instruments Technology was conducted by Dr. Nadeem Lehrasab, CEO of RIMS on 10th March’ 08 for faculty and final year students. A One-day workshop on Programmable Logic Controllers was conducted by Mr. Jawad ul Hassan, CEO AH Automation Isb (Pvt) Ltd, for final year students.

Stress Testing Research Center • Undertook the task identified in last CAC to develop a proposal for a stress testing research center • Initial proposal was to establish a stress testing lab for industry usage • Evolved to envision a research center with active research into software testing, load testing and software quality assurance • Proposal complete from our side; sent to Dr Qasim Sheikh (ICT R&D Fund) for funding

Industry Linkage • Software Productivity Consultants (SPSnet.com) • US –Washington based software company Specializes in Planning , deployment, maintenance & training of • IBM Tivoli, HP Openview, Emergency Preparedness System (EPS)™ • Five consultants of SPS are now operating from SEECS • From 6:00 pm to 3:00 am • Training at SEECS by SPS • Tivoli Identity Manager (TIM) & Tivoli Access Manager (TAM) • SEECS – SPS Partnership objective: • Produce IBM certified trainers • make this center as the hub of IBM consultancy & training activities in South Asia, & Middle East
