This PowerPoint will allow you to… • Describe what quality services and quality indicators are. • Identify how a statewide AT Act program can improve quality services by using quality indicators. • Identify quality indicator tools and resources for statewide AT Act programs to achieve quality services.

  3. Quality Services • Quality Services are effective and promising practices that have been found to produce successful service outcomes for statewide AT Act programs. • By providing quality services, a program ensures that the AT Act mandates are implemented.

  4. Quality Services • Work groups composed of staff from statewide AT Act programs developed lists of practices that they considered provided quality services for Device Demonstration and Device Loan programs. • The Pass It On Center developed Quality Indicators for Device Reutilization programs. • AFPs and Telework Loan programs are in the process of developing a list of practices for financial loan programs.

  5. Development of Quality Indicators • The Lists of Quality Practices were converted into “Quality indicators.” • Elements of an Indicator: • Indicator Statement • Intent - providing context and explanation • Key Considerations – detail specific practices

Benefits of Quality Indicators • Quality indicators assist programs identify program strengths and areas needing improvement. • Use of quality indicators help increase the consistency of services among statewide AT Act programs. • Statewide AT Act programs can gauge their services by using quality indicator self assessment tools available online.
