Alosta Ave. Azusa, California co-founders and artistic directors Board of Directors •Claire Hodgkins •Sherry Kloss •Carl Fortina, treasurer •Joyce Osborne, secretary •Grant Beglarian •Eugene Gratovich • Michael Ferril • Gregory Khalil Ruggero Ricci, the reigning king of violin playing, will meet on this occasion in the lovely Azusa Pacific University Recital Hall. Since his debut in 1928, he has played more often before more people in more places and has recorded more music for violin than any other soloist. He has just completed of group of CDs playing violins of 18 contemporary makers on an Italian label. He has played more than 5000 concerts in 65 countries. He has given generously of his time to teaching, sharing his wealth of violin repertoire with many violinists who treasure his warm personality and great sense of humor. He is currently living in Salzburg, Austria where he teaches at the Mozarteum Conservatory. Mr. Ricci's friendship with Jascha Heifetz spanned over fifty years. Come celebrate Jascha Heifetz' 101st birthday with Mr. Ricci and friends! Enjoy food and refreshments in the university’s Atrium after the class.
