FAO: Some basic terms and definitions • Food security: exists when all people, at all times, have physical, social and economic access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food • Undernourishment: describes the status of persons whose food intake regularly provides less than their minimum energy requirements • Hunger targets: are outlined in two main agreements – the World Food Summit Target and the Millennium Development Goals

Whatabout the future? • Definition of shared concepts and clear priorities: hunger, fairness, education, prosperity… • A cooperative network: information, lessons learned, intentions regarding social policies: Supply & demand matrixes. SIPAM/SIVAM as a model • Common approaches to key places: Haiti; Bolivia. The ability to share experiences, rather than teach lessons • Brazil: 50% poorest increased their wealth in 67.9% between 2000 & 2010; Gini index evolved from 0.61 to 0.53. China (0.48); India (0.52); Russia (0.42), and South Africa (0.67) have all increased in the last decade. • Cooperation: From R$ 4,5 million in 2003 to R$ 52,5 million in 2010 to R$ 92 million in 2011; focus on agriculture, health and biofuels; Mozambique (15,78%), East Timor (15.16%), and Guinea Bissau (14,43%); and Haiti (13%), from 2005-2010. • Happiness Index:Brazil ranks 1st, followed by the US, Venezuela, France…
