Pailton Parish Plan – General Survey Crime – Interpretation & Actions We think the relative level of crime is low when compared with neighbouring villages But the responses do reflect genuine concern Levels of vandalism are perceived to have dropped in the last six months These concerns have been relayed to the Police and a public meeting is to be held on the 21st November in the Village Hall

    11. Pailton Parish Plan – General Survey Policing Open meeting to be held on 21st November at 8pm with Senior Police Officers from Warwickshire Constabulary Please come along to air your views

Parking Problems There were 173 respondents to this subject The majority cited lack of space in the village centre - 108 (62%) 19 (11%) also commented on lack of space outside the Village Hall It is unlikely that either the space or resources could ever be found to address the problem at these locations Planners however, need to made aware that any further development in the immediate vicinity does not make the situation worse Further development elsewhere in the village must include adequate facilities for parking both for residents and for visitors to prevent the problem spreading It is worth noting that visitors are most likely to be using cars owing to the village’s location and relatively poor public transport links

Village Hall – Actions Children – Plan to advertise for qualified volunteer Biggest issue was the desire for a youth club Parking – Understand the issue but practicalities difficult A big issue throughout Facilities – Room at rear of stage costly, balcony cleared Changing room Social & Sports – Activities published in Nov Round the Revel Fragmented wish-list Housekeeping – Balcony cleared, Cleaner hired, Heating fixed Balcony, heating, cleaning Hire – details of hire publicised in Nov Round the Revel & on www.pailton.org.uk People wanted to know how to hire Equipment Stage lighting – Temporary fix with plan for permanent solution (Playing field goal post arrived, need volunteers to erect over Christmas holiday)

    19. Pailton Parish Plan – General Survey Recycling - Actions Bins for Garden waste are to be provided by RBC No village facilities for plastics and cardboard  This issue has been raised with RBC There are facilities in Rugby Also, a new recycling facility is being built in Rugby

Overgrown hedge rows along the bridle path from Pailton Club to Monks Kirby The growth was cut put back and weed killer applied The path between Yews farm and the council houses on Rugby road was of particular concern Reported by the Parish Council to WCC Other issues relate to poor signage, dog fouling, difficult styles/gates and antisocial ostriches

Pailton Parish Plan – General Survey Traffic calming There was no specific question on traffic calming, but concerns were raised in the written comments Since the survey was made improvements have been made to the scheme There will be a follow-up impact survey within the next 12 months HGV Traffic There are far fewer HGVs passing through the village than before There is a reporting system for HGVs passing through the village Freight Quality Partnership Reports via Magna Park Details on www.pailton.org.uk or from Tony Gillias

An interesting list of suggestions was made Results being passed to the editor and other publications (Note Round the Revel has limited capacity) Q.52 Please tick your box if you have seen the Village website (www.pailton.org.uk) 62 respondents said yes (3700 hits on the website recorded so far, generally 100 hits/week)

Pailton Parish Plan – General Survey Communication Issues were raised regarding poor delivery of local newspapers, little information regarding village and church activities, planning applications This information has been passed on to the relevant groups Actions taken The PO & Shop is now delivering newspapers Village Hall information, rentals, events etc. put in Round the Revel and www.pailton.org.uk Parish Council Agendas and Minutes on the Village notice board and www.pailton.org.uk Key Parish Council items reported in Round the Revel District Diary now on www.pailton.org.uk Church activities in Round the Revel

    25. Public Transport Problems There were 193 respondents on this issue Unsurprisingly 102 or 53% did not use buses as they were car owners A further 50 or 26% found the service provision to be inconvenient in one way or another Timing, routing, onward connection etc.

How do you travel to school or college? 26% of respondents use buses, 3% use trains Q.23. Do you use any of the buses that serve the parish? And if so, what for? 68% never uses buses 10% use them for shopping 8% use them for social activities  Many disabled parishioners have difficulty accessing the buses

Pailton Parish Plan – General Survey Transport Actions The findings of this survey will be passed on to the current operator, De Courcey’s and to the Transport Operations Department of Warwickshire County Council they may prove useful in initiating improvements to the service New Services RBC has provided a minibus available on demand for anyone in the village

Combining the Club & Hall - Actions Results passed to the Village Hall Committee & Club Since the questionnaire was issued a huge amount of work has been done on the Village Hall i.e. the comments may be different now Overall conclusion no specific actions proposed, but the situation will be reviewed if the situation changes
