  2. Title I at JPS • What is Title I? • How is it funded? • How are students selected? • What are students expectations? • How can parents become involved?

  3. What is Title I? • Federal Program • Gives assistance in reading and/or math • East Intermediate is a school wide assistance program. This means that all students can be considered for services.

  4. Title I funding • Congress appropriates funding each year as part of the education package • Large districts receive funding based on the local census • Sites receive allocations based on number of low income families attending their site

  5. Student Expectations • Our goal is to get your student on grade level. • Students should be able to use Every Day Math and the Comprehension Toolkit successfully. • All students and parents should complete a Title I Compact.

  6. Parent Involvement • Communication • Parent/School Compact • Parent Involvement Policy Summary • District Advisory Board • Site Committee* *Please let a Title I staff member know if you would like to be a part of our site committee. We meet a few times during each academic year.
