  2. Mission and History • “Helping New Americans achieve self-sufficiency and full membership in American life.” • Founded in 1919, limited services • Today, various services such as refugee, immigration, health programs, and college readiness are just a few offerings

  3. Major Program Involvment • Bus Buddies • Health Fair Planning – stemmed from FGC workshops • Life in Minnesota Class • All relate to Seven Areas, very culturally competent type of work

  4. Why this work is important • Many people could benefit from this experience • Work with all types of people is important in the public health profession

  5. Site Considerations • Lived with my parents so housing was ok • Lot of housing in St. Paul, but watch rent pricing • Car is helpful, but not required

  6. Summary • Awesome experience • Closed off my undergrad career on a high note
