  3. The Soldier and Adventure Seeker • Raleigh put down an Irish rebellion at Ulster in 1580. • Took over the town of Gadiz in1596. • Colonized Roanoke and explored Trinidad. • Raleigh lived a full life as a soldier, explorer, philosopher, astronomer, writer, and scientist.
