  4. Interviews and Selection • To acquire top-talent and avoid the potential loss of candidates to competing positions, a sense of urgency should drive the interview process. While we understand the challenges of time management, we highly recommend that hiring managers commit to dates and times to interview candidates of interest without undue delay. • Debriefs and feedback loops should continue in a timely manner throughout each interview phase and post-selection to ensure that your top candidates are kept highly engaged.

Final Steps • To avoid counter or competing offers during either the final interview or post-offer and acceptance stages, candidates should receive regular communication up to their hire or assignment start date. • While we are committed to communicating with our candidates during this crucial phase, it is in your best interest to connect with direct-hire employees a few times prior to their hire date. When feasible, lunch meetings between managers and new hires before their hire dates serve this purpose very well.
