How to Taste Whiskey • Get ready • Pour a glass and have some Scottish spring water at hand. • Check the color • Hold the glass up to the light. The color comes from the Casks. • Look at the legs • Hold at an angle and rotate it briskly. The slower the legs, the older the whiskey. • Nose • Hold the glass at an arms length and then pass it smoothly under your nose; Repeat.
How to Taste (cont) • Taste the spirit • Form your tongue into a small spoon shape in your mouth. Sip from the glass, letting the single malt nestle on your tongue. • Add a little fresh water • Just a few drops, swirl the glass, and take a small mouthful with some air. • Enjoy • There are no ‘right’ and ‘wrong’ articulations of the aromas and taste you experience. Just go with it.

Following the sweetness, it is chased by some peat that is very pleasant, but then comes some heat and burn. Finish: Some peat and more sugar. If only the peat was stronger.
