  5. Polycom VVX 500 Answering Calls To answer with the speakerphone tap Answer orpress. To answer with the headset, press . To answer with the handset, pick up the handset. To answer a new call while on an active call, tap Answer. The current call will be held. Note: If you selectReject, the call will go directly to voicemail.

  6. Polycom VVX 500 – Placing Calls • The Dialer displays a list of previously-placed calls. Tap one of the entries to automatically enter it. Or, start entering a number. As you enter numbers, the Dialer displays a list of similar numbers. Tap a match to automatically enter it. To bring up the Dialer • Pick up the handset, or press or . • Start entering a phone number on the keypad. • In Lines view, tap a phone line that doesn’t have any calls. • From Home, Lines or Calls view, tap New Call.This method only works if you don’t have an active call. E.g., with a caller on hold, you will see the New Call option. LCR

  7. Polycom VVX 500 – Recent Calls Your phone maintains lists of missed, received, and placed calls. To quickly access your Recent Calls, tap in the status bar. By default, the list displays all calls. To display your calls by type (Placed, Received, Missed) tap . A second screen is displayed to select sort options: Type or Line (for phones with multiple extensions. Icons display next to a call: • Placed calls display . • Received calls display . • Missed calls display . • Tap to clear calls. • Tap sort calls by Time/Name and Ascending/Descending order • Tap to dial, delete or edit an individual call from the Recent Calls list

  8. Polycom VVX 500 – Forward Incoming Calls While your phone rings, you can forward the call to another number. To forward an incoming call to another party: • While your phone rings, tap Forward. • From the Call Forwarding screen, enter the forwarding number, and tap Forward. Options under Ignore: Answer/Reject/Forward/New Call

Polycom VVX 500 – Call Forwarding To set Call Forwarding: • Tap Forwardfrom Lines or Home view. • If your phone is set up with multiple lines, tap the line to apply forwarding to. • From the Forwarding Type Select screen, tap the forwarding type you want: • Always—To forward all incoming calls. • No Answer—To forward all unanswered incoming calls. • Busy—To forward calls that arrive when you’re already in a call. • Enter the forwarding number, and tap Enable. Note: If you selected the No Answer option, you can enter the number of rings before your phone forwards the call. A value of 2-3is recommended. You will need to update the setting each time.   10. Polycom VVX 500 – Call Forwarding To disable call forwarding: • From Home or Lines view, tap Forward. • From the Forwarding Type Select screen, tap the forwarding type to disable (Always, No Answer, Busy), and tap Disable.

  11. Polycom VVX 500 – Do Not Disturb (DND) • When you enable Do Not Disturb (DND), you prevent your phone from ringing and send all incoming calls directly to voicemail. All calls you receive while DND is enabled will be logged to your Recent Calls list. To enable or disable Do Not Disturb: From Home or Lines view: • Tap DND to Enable or Disable. The DND icon will scroll in your status bar Note: If you enable both Forwarding and DND, calls will still be sent to the forwarding number. Forward Paging DND

  12. Polycom VVX 500 – Placing a Call on Hold A held call displays in Home, Lines, and Calls view as follows: To hold a call: • From Active Call, Lines, or Calls view, tap Hold. If you’re in Calls view, and the active call isn’t highlighted, be sure to tap it to select it. To resume a held call: • Tap Resume from Lines or Calls view.

  13. Polycom VVX 500 – Warm Transfer To perform a Warm Transfer: • From Active Call, Lines, or Calls view, tap Transfer. The active call is held. • From the Dialer, place a call to the party you want to transfer the call to. • Talk with the person, and then tap Transfer to complete. To cancel the transfer before the call connects, tap Cancel.

  14. Polycom VVX 500 – Blind Transfer To perform a Blind Transfer: • From Active Call, Lines, or Calls view, tap Transfer. The active call is held and hold music is played. • From the Dialer, tap Blind, and dial the party you want to transfer the call to and press to complete the transfer. Blind

  15. Polycom VVX 500 – Transfer to Voicemail To perform a Transfer to Voicemail: • From Active Call, Lines, or Calls view, tap Transfer. • Dial *55 followed by the extension number and press . The system will announce that your call has been transferred.

  16. Polycom VVX 500 - Conferences To set up a conference call 3-Way/N-Way: • From Active Call, Lines, or Calls view, tap Confrnc. The active call is held. • Using the Dialer, call the third party. • When the third party answers announce the conference and then tap Confrnc to join all three parties. • You can conference up to 14 additional parties. To end a conference call: • From Active Call, Lines, or Calls view, tap End Call.

  17. Polycom VVX 500 – Voicemail Messages Your phone may indicate new voicemail messages by the following: • A message counter in Home view. The counter indicates the number of new messages you have. • A Messages icon, , on the status bar. If you have more than one new message, the icon has a counter indicating the number of new messages you have. A Messages icon also scrolls under the time display, and displays next to the phone line (Lines view only). • A flashing Message Waiting Indicator. • Stutter dial tone. Home View Lines View

Polycom VVX 500 – Voicemail Messages To listen to voicemail messages: • On the status bar, tap , and tap Connect. • Or, from Home view, tap Messages, Message Center and tap Connect. • Dial *86 • If multiple lines are configured on your phone, the Line Select screen displays.
