  1. Hire the Best Electrical Apprentices via ElectricianXchange There is a crying shortage of qualified electricians and as every qualified electrician needs to complete their apprenticeship - a crying shortage of enough apprentices coming into the system. As we have a great relationship with various TAFEs such as Melbourne Polytechnic, Victoria University, Kangan and Swinburne – many of the apprentices going to these TAFEs know about electricianXchange. Of course, all of the apprentices are employed and as employed indentured apprentices if they are happy, all is good. They don’t need electricianXchange. But is they are unhappy for whatever reason, then they have an option of finding other options via electricianXchange. And this is critical because 25% of apprentices leave the industry, so before they do, now there is an option of considering other avenues, other options before exiting the industry and leaving the industry in a hole as has been in past years, when options to pursue were harder to access. And how can you ensure that you get the best apprentices via electricianXchange? Firstly most younger adults (which apprentices ar) will not stick around too long if they are not happy where they are.

  2. The concept of a job for life has long passed. So locating those best aligned with your employment and then providing them with enough learning opportunities is what will encourage the best to be attracted to you and the best to stay long enough to complete their apprenticeship and become qualified electricians under your tutelage. Checking with the teachers is also a good way of finding those with good soft skills – given it’s the soft skills you are taking on board for those early in their career given that technical skills are still to be built upon. The sort of things attracting electrical apprentices particularly in Melbourne will be aspects like the following which the electrical contracting company will be doing including: designing and maintaining electrical products & systems wiring testing & tagging rough in and rough outs trouble shooting on industrial / manufacturing systems solar panel installations and wiring evaluating systems safety and performance working as part of a team service orientation An electrical apprentice is a student as well as a professional, spending four years working & studying developing skills essential to working as an autonomous electrician i.e. someone who can work on live electricity without supervision. Apprentices earn a wage dictated by Fair Work Australia. So as an apprentice or employer you are unsure of what the apprentice needs to be paid go to https://calculate.fairwork.gov.au/FindYourAward to locate how much you should get paid /or pay depending on whether you ar an apprentice or an employer.
