  1. Australia

  2. Geography • The continent of Australia, with the island state of Tasmania, is approximately equal in area. Located south of the equator, Australia, the Island Continent, is bounded by the Indian Ocean to the west and Pacific Ocean in the east.

  3. Seasons • The seasons are reversed to the northern hemisphere, and dress is standard for business, tending to comfortable and informal, with lightweight clothing suitable for most of the year, although southern states, highlands and desert regions can get below zero at night and during the cooler months.

  4. Australian States and Territories • The national capital of Australia is Canberra.  There are six states; Queensland (QLD), New South Wales (NSW), Victoria (VIC), Tasmania (TAS), South Australia (SA) and Western Australia (WA). The Australian Capital Territory (ACT) is now self administrating with it's own legislature. The Northern Territory (NT), despite being self administrating, can still have its state laws overturned by the Federal Government.

  5. Towns • Major towns and larger population centres include the southern Gold Coast suburb of Coolangatta and its northern NSW twin town Tweed Heads, the university town of Lismore, the seaside resort towns of Ballina and Byron Bay, and the inland agricultural and farming centresof Casino (Cassino), Kyogle, Murwillumbah, and Alstonville on the southern plateau.
