Meeting Objectives • Provide an overview of the Annual Report • The what, why and who of reporting • Review new reporting requirements for 2014 • Highlight available resources/supporting documents • Get a hands-on look at the Annual Report • Ensure participants have all the information they need to successfully complete their report

  3. What is the Annual Report? • A data “snapshot in time” – Sept. 1, 2012 – Aug. 31, 2013 • Self-reported programmatic data

  4. The Why: • Annual Reporting Requirements  • Massachusetts State Annual Report (SAR) • Capture data to populate public profiles • Longitudinal data • Federal Title II Report • National reporting requirements

The Who • All Educator Preparation Program Providers / Sponsoring Organizations (SO) have to complete some portion of the report • Who is a Title II SO? – does your organization offer: • programs that lead to a first initial teacher license = Yes, you are a Title II organization • ONLY Reading Specialist / specialist teacher, Professional Support Personnel, Administrators or Professional level programs = NO, do not offer Title II programs (only 10 SO’s)

New Reporting Requirements for 2014 • Exit Requirements – similar to admission requirements • Minimum Required GPA for completion (exit) • Median GPA of candidates at completion (exit) • Average Number of Courses Required for Program Completion • Average Number of Practicum Hours Required for Program Completion • Reasons for Zero Completers • Large Changes in Number of Completers

Do’s and Don'ts • DO • Read all supporting documents • Update Directory Administration if necessary • Make sure you know user name/password • Complete worksheet prior to entering data in ELAR • Click ‘save’ after entering data on each page • Pay attention to text box limits, and 30 minute time-out issue • Complete by April 23, 2014 • DON’T • Leave ANYTHING blank on report • Enter non-alphanumeric characters (use whole numbers only)

  10. Pre-populated Data • Students Enrolled • Non-practicum coursework completers • Program • Data will be pre-populated with the 2012-2013 data entered into ELAR (both the Legacy and Early ID systems) • Edit data as needed, use zero’s where appropriate, don’t leave blanks
