  9. Summary of the Biblical Story We are created for relationship with… God Others The Rest of Creation

  10. Hosea 4:1-3 “Hear the word of the LORD, you Israelites, because the LORD has a charge to bring against you who live in the land: "There is no faithfulness, no love, no acknowledgment of God in the land. There is only cursing, lying and murder, stealing and adultery; they break all bounds, and bloodshed follows bloodshed. Because of this the land mourns, and all who live in it waste away; the beasts of the field and the birds of the air and the fish of the sea are dying.

  11. Genesis 2:15The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. Genesis 1:28 God blessed them; and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth."

  12. Genesis 2:15The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. Joshua 24:15 “But as for me and my household, we will serve (abad) the LORD.” Numbers 6:24-26 “The LORD bless you, and keep (shamar) you; The LORD make His face shine on you, And be gracious to you; The LORD lift up His countenance on you, And give you peace.”

  13. Sustainable Development "The earth was given to man, with this condition, that he should occupy himself in its cultivation... The custody of the garden was given in charge to Adam, to show that we possess the things which God has committed to our hands, on the condition that, being content with the frugal and moderate use of them, we should take care of what shall remain. Let him who possesses a field, so partake of its yearly fruits, that he may not suffer the ground to be injured by his negligence, but let him endeavor to hand it down to posterity as he received it, or even better cultivated. Let him so feed on its fruits, that he neither dissipates it by luxury, nor permits it to be marred or ruined by neglect. Moreover, that this economy, and this diligence, with respect to those good things which God has given us to enjoy, may flourish among us; let everyone regard himself as the steward of God in all things which he possesses. Then he will neither conduct himself dissolutely, nor corrupt by abuse those things which God requires to be preserved." -John Calvin

  14. Sustainable Development Development which seeks to produce sustainable economic growth while ensuring future generations' ability to do the same by not exceeding the regenerative capacity of the nature.
