In Jewish History The custom was: to be immersed in the mikveh –water pool before Yom Kippur as a sign of purity and repentance Before the Sabbath to prepare oneself for holiness of the day.

Funerals and Baptism The pall is the large white cloth that is placed over the casket. The white color of the pall is a reminder of everyone’s resurrection . It also symbolizes putting on the robe of Christ's righteousness in baptism.
