It was implemented to replace complex tax systems, such as excise duty, service tax, and value- added tax (VAT) to make it simple. GST is designed to create a transparent tax system and to promote a more efficient flow of goods and services across the economy. The GST involves both the central and state governments aims to boost economic growth, simplify taxation, and create a unified market. So, what is Application Reference Number related to GST? Just see an outline. Application Reference Number (ARN) is a unique 15-digit number. This is given to check your application status. Until you get your GSTN and GST Certificate, you can use ARN to track your application status. What is Application Reference Number in GST? ARN is generated after submitting an electronically or digitally signed enrolment application in the GSTN portal. It contains 15-digit numbers to help in tracking your application status. In general, it is called a GST ARN check. What is the format of GST Application Reference Number? The ARN follows the standard format of a 15-digit alpha-numeric unique code for every enrolment. For example: AA 06 0618 000000 2 •The first 2 digits of the code are alphabets. •The 3rd and 4th digits are representing State Code. •The next 4 digits represent the year and month. •The next 6 digits are unique generations for every application. That is generated by the system. •And the last one signifies the digit of the checksum. How to track the status of GST ARN? You can easily track the GST ARN status by following these steps •Step 1: Go to the authorized GST Portal.

If you couldn’t be able to find your ARN, an email was sent with instructions to take further action. What documents are required for Application Reference Number? For successful enrolment, you must submit documents necessary for identification and verification. •Business Purposes •List of director’s and partner’s business details along with identification documents. Along with MICR number is also required. What is the process to enrol GST Application Reference Number? Enrolling for GST ARN is so easy if you have all the documents ready. Just follow these below steps to make it simple: •Step 1: Register your GST by visiting an online portal. •Step 2: You will receive an OTP for your registered email and phone number. This is to verify your PAN Card. •Step 3: Fill in Part A of GST REG-01 with the required details and proof. •Step 4: After completing Part A, a Temporary Registration Number is given. A confirmation number will also be sent to your registered mail or phone number. •Step 5: Again, fill all the details in Part-B of the application GST REG- 01. •Step 6: Once you complete filling both parts, you will receive an acknowledgment receipt. It contains information about applications with the ARN in it. Now ARN can be used for tracking purposes. Also, you can raise queries for any issues using your ARN. Types of application status of GST ARN Different types of GST ARN status are: •GST ARN that is pending for processing. •GST ARN that is assigned for site verification. •GST ARN that is completed with its site verification. •GST ARN that is pending for clarification. •GST ARN pending for order both Clarification filed and Clarification not field. •GST ARN that is approved and rejected.
