NEWS on Healthcare Informatics in Japan • Japanese government issued next 5-year plan to reform healthcare IT. • Currently, every healthcare facility claims their rewards once a month with paper forms. Government announced to change rules and to make facilities claim through the network in five years. • In parallel with this, Japanese government would try to develop a plan to build Japanese EHR. But, there are many disputes about this. • What type of EHR may be fit for Japan? • What are the steps toward it? • What amount of money will be necessary? • How many years are needed to build it? • etc.
