  2. About the Book by: National Geographic Summary:Readers learn how to read and use maps and apply them to the earth. The book tells the about the compass and the scale on the map. It show earth in several different dimensions to help the reader gain a better understanding of their home planet. The book tells about the different continents giving specific information on the land regions, water, climate, plants and animals.

  3. Genre –Nonfiction: Atlas An atlas is a book of maps. • Look for: • Maps keys that help you understand the information on the maps. • Scales that tell you about distance.
