Alliance. an agreement between two or more countries who join together for some important purpose. colony. A group of people who settle in a far-off land but who are still under the rule of the land they came from. empire. A group of lands all ruled by the same government or ruler.

  1. Alliance an agreement between two or more countries who join together for some important purpose

  2. colony A group of people who settle in a far-off land but who are still under the rule of the land they came from

  3. empire A group of lands all ruled by the same government or ruler

  4. militarism A national policy (plan) to aggressively prepare for war by building up the armed forces (army, navy, air force)

  5. nationalism An attitude members of a nation have when they care about their national identity

  6. front The physical location of fighting in a war, a “line” where two opposing armies fight each other

  7. trench A type of ditch or channel dug in the ground – used extensively in World War I

  8. neutral To NOT be on one side or the other , for example, during World War I - Spain and Switzerland

  9. dictator A ruler of a country who has complete, unrestricted control in a government

  10. Nazi Party A political group (party) which rose to power in Germany after World War I, whose leader was Adolf Hitler

  11. facism A government system (with a dictator) that has complete control, often extremely nationalistic/racist

  12. Judaism A major world religion who followers (Jews) believe in one God and the teachings of the Old Testament

  13. Anti-semitism An attitude of hate and prejudice against Jews

  14. scapegoat A person or group made to take the blame for others Scapegoat BAM!!!

  15. depression A period of time when the economy “tanks,” that is business, trade, industry and employment decline and stay down.

  16. Appeasement the policy of settling international quarrels by admitting and satisfying grievances through rational negotiation and compromise
