  1. Quarterly report ScotGrid Quarter 01 2006 Fraser Speirs

  2. Current site status data Both Edinburgh and Durham had planned power shutdowns this quarter, which impact on downtime and SFTs • Local network connectivity is that to the site SE • It is understood that SFT failures do not always result from site problems, but it is the best measure currently available. • Relevance percentage comes from the CIC tool. Quarterly report: ScotGrid

  3. All GridPP Resources • The GridPP-Tier-2 MoUs made reference to integrated CPU over the 3 years of GridPP2. Under the “Promised – integrated kSI2K hours until this quarter” an estimate is provided of what the Tier-2 would have expected to provide to this quarter on the basis of planned installations. “Static kSI2K” shows what would currently be expected if all purchases planned to this quarter had been made and implemented. The actual columns show what has been delivered. Quarterly report: ScotGrid

  4. LCG resources 1) The estimated figures are those that were projected for LCG planning purposes: http://lcg-computing-fabric.web.cern.ch/LCG-Computing-Fabric/GDB_resource_infos/Summary_Institutes_2004_2005_v11.htm 2) Current total job slots are those reported by EGEE/LCG gstat page. Quarterly report: ScotGrid

  5. VOs supported by site Quarterly report: ScotGrid

  6. CPU used per VO over quarter (KSI2K hours) • Information currently available from APEL • http://goc.grid-support.ac.uk/gridsite/accounting/tree/gridpp_view.php- please note these pages are • still under development! • Nb. This could be automated with an SQL/R-GMA query Quarterly report: ScotGrid

  7. Usage by VO for Tier-2 Quarterly report: ScotGrid

  8. Usage by VO (jobs) Nb: This can be extracted from APEL Quarterly report: ScotGrid

  9. Storage resources in use per VO (TB) Difficult to provide this for the period but we can at least show *current* usage. If we can get the information average and maximum per VO over the period would be useful parameters to record. Quarterly report: ScotGrid

  10. CPU Usage by VO (KSI2K hours) Nb: This can be extracted from APEL – http://goc.grid-support.ac.uk/gridsite/accounting/custom.php Quarterly report: ScotGrid

  11. Progress over last quarter Quarterly report: ScotGrid

  12. Tier-2 risks Quarterly report: ScotGrid

  13. Tier-2 planning for next quarter • Further FTS transfer testing • Software upgrades in advance of SC4 • Progress with procurements at Glasgow, Edinburgh • Planning for installation at Glasgow around end of Q2/beginning Q3 • Increased experiment involvement: • Glasgow • Installing Atlas DQ2 testing infrastructure • Looking at use of MonAMI as monitoring tool for FTS and SRM • Edinburgh • Further engagement with LHCb, led by Pete Clarke. • Research data movement workflows, specifically for Atlas and LHCb Quarterly report: ScotGrid

  14. Objectives and deliverables for last quarter Quarterly report: ScotGrid

  15. Objectives and deliverables for next quarter Quarterly report: ScotGrid

  16. Meetings, papers & effort For Tier-2 coordinator: Quarterly report: ScotGrid

  17. Summary & outlook • Transfer Tests have been a big focus • Very successful • ScotGrid members have significantly advanced the UKI ROC’s position in this area. • Glasgow joined EGEE Pre-Production Service (and are green) • Durham now supporting every GridPP-approved VO • Have stable YAIM configs for all • Successfully identified optimal kernel/filesystem combination for SRMs • Are pushing forward rollout across GridPP • Done for dCache at Edinburgh • Done for DPM at Glasgow Quarterly report: ScotGrid
