  1. Welcome, I am Trevor Doughty Director of Children’s Services. These pages explain how we hope to improve life for all Northumberland children, young people and their parents.

  2. Everyone wants all children and young people to be healthy, be safe, enjoy and achieve, make a positive contribution, and avoid poverty. Schools, health services, leisure centres, youth clubs, police, Connexions, councils and many others can all contribute to these better ‘outcomes’. The Families and Children’s Trust Partnership includes them all plus children, young people and parents. The idea is to decide together how to improve upon all five outcomes for all children and young people in Northumberland, write it down and then make it happen.

  3. Hello, I am Annie Sanders and my job is to make sure children and young people have a say in everything we do, particularly the FACT Partnership. I would like to hear from you what you think about services for children and young people. Click here to send me a message:

  4. Lots of people said they did not know what services there were for children, young people or families near where they lived. You can look up services in your area in the FACT Service Directory. has lots of information especially for young people aged 13 to 19 years (click on logo)

  5. When you need help, you need to know you can trust adults to respect your privacy. We printed this leaflet that explains your rights. Every school has copies of the leaflet and lots of other places where young people or parents ask for help. Click on the leaflet to read it online.

  6. ‘Putting the Learner First’ is our strategy to improve school buildings in Northumberland, with better equipment and facilities for the 21st century. You can read about it and find out how it may affect your school by clicking on this picture -
