  1. Procedure for client communication when working with Earth Moved: The following must take place when being the project manager on a job Take full responsibility for the job Where possible visit the site prior to the job – meet client and get a run down on his expectations Record all contact information about the job in a place which you can retrieve this information Contact client the day prior and confirm that all is still on schedule When you arrive at the site prior to unloading, go and meet the client and communicate With them the scope of works about to be completed. First let them know that the time starts from now and finishes once the equipment is loaded and tied down securely, let them know that all underground services are the responsibility of them to confirm that they have done their duty of care and it is both safe and secure to proceed with works that they are requesting. Speak to them about safety working in small areas with the equipment and talk about blind spot or dangerous areas of operation with equipment. Do a site scope meeting with client to ensure that you both understand the works about to take place and also do safety check list where dangerous or taps and other services are, mark these areas with flags provided and place out witches hats for pedestrian boarders. Ask client if he minds if the A board display sign can be set up on display! After two hours of work refuel equipment with containers on site Every hour discuss with client and assess how the client expectation is. When you feel the task has been met prior to packing up go through the job with the client and only pack up once the client says he is complete and happy. Once packed up work out the hours completed and ask the client for the funds. Hand the client some magnetic business cards and ask him for any referrals as they would be greatly accepted
