  4. When? • From June 30th1946- August 18th 1958 the US conducted 67 atmospheric nuclear tests in the Marshall Islands

  5. Why? • The US wanted to test their nuclear technology and conduct research in a more remote location- other than the nuclear testing facilities on US soil.
