  2. INTRODUCTIONTO 3G • 3G is the cellular technology. • 3G is the short term for 3rd generation technology. • 3G technology most recent in mobile technology. • Using 3g,you can watch on demand, video programming, play music etc. • 3G allows you to browse quickly through web pages .

  3. 3GNETWORK • 3G network have the capability of transferring speed up to 3mbps. • 3G network have been in operation globally since Dec-2000 and continuing to spread.

  4. 3G USES • 3G technology is the most recent wireless technology available.  • This technology is also popular as UMTS or universal mobile telecommunication system.  • 3G phone was created and designed for user to have the ability to surf the internet.

  5. HISTORY AND START • First 3g network offered for commercial use was launched in Japan by NTT(National teacher Training) Docomo. • In may 2000 the second 3g network from south korea was EV-DO by KTF(Keeping The Faith). 

  6. FUNCTION OF 3G • Downloading songs and games will be much faster compared to other technology. • People can also enjoy and download their favorite games via mobile unit and play simultaneously. • The latest music and song can be acquire very easily.

  7. GETTING INFORMATION • Getting information is one of the best feature in 3g. • You can also watch the latest news and headlines. • Getting data likes weather, sport and economic details.

  8. 3G IN MOBILE TECHNOLOGY (In CDMA-2000) • High data transfer rate approx 200kbps. • CDMA 2000 provides wireless facility (In W-CDMA) • It is able to download 14.7mb/sec • Improved audio-visual effects.

  9. DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 3G AND 4G Vs • Main difference is sophistication where 3g is loaded with technology multiple wireless network where 4g comes up with its own network. • 4G is 20 times faster than 3g.

  10. VS • Function-function of 2g technology is the transmission of information via voice signals while in 3g via video conferencing, MMS(Multimedia Messaging Service)etc. • Speed-In 2g,downloading and uploading speed up to 2.36kbps while in 3g up to 21mbps

  11. BSNL 3G MOBILE SERVICES • BSNL 3g services use USIM(universal subscriber identification module). • USIM has a storage capacity of 128KB. • Roaming facility in case of 3g is better as compared to other services.

  14. ISSUES HAMPERING ITS GROWTH • Health impact because of electromagnetic waves.  • Prices are very high for 3g mobile services. • Takes time to catch up as the service is new.
