Eating Disorder (ED) Treatment and Recovery The overall goal is to provide educational information on eating disorders, and offer treatment plans for those who are living with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified (EDNOS), and other coexisting conditions. Three case studies will follow digital strategies of 3 facilities: • Remuda Ranch • The Renfrew Center • Canopy Cove

Remuda Ranch is a large-scale treatment facility for eating disorders • They treat female children, adolescents, and adults • Treatment programs include Remuda Acute Care, Remuda Life Residential, Remuda Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Remuda Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) • Target audience for website and social media: people seeking information on EDs, those seeking treatment options, parents/family members/friends, healthcare professionals, job seekers

Recommendations for Remuda Ranch • State the revenue of intake so potential clients will know the environment of the facility • Including a FAQ section could help people be more open to seeking treatment • Improve Twitter feed to make it more interesting and educational • Make sure everything on digital platforms is functional, i.e. video content on Facebook

The Renfrew Center is a nationally renowned treatment center for EDs • They have 11 locations in 9 states • Offer Residential, Day Treatment, IOP, and Outpatient programs • Have a nonprofit Research Department • Target audience for website and social media: people seeking information on EDs, those seeking treatment options, parents/family members/friends, healthcare professionals, job seekers

Recommendations for Renfrew • Very successful, but perhaps make the website less intimidating for potential clients with an overload of content • Make website more inviting, has a more serious tone and seems very business-like, which can take away from the goal of recovery • Establish Instagram account. Only one out of the three to have Instagram and can be a powerful platform

Canopy Cove is a small, privately-owned treatment center for eating disorders • They treat adolescent and adult males and females, and offer Residential, Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), IOP, and Outpatient programs • Target audience: people seeking information on EDs, people seeking treatment options, parents/family members/friends

Recommendations for Canopy Cove • Overall theme for Canopy Cove is that digital presence is boring. • Make website more inviting with different color themes • Capitalize on the scenery and the smaller-scale environment for individualized treatment • Include more content than inspirational quotes and pictures on Facebook and Twitter; more relevant and practical content • LinkedIn account can establish network with healthcare professionals to bring in referrals
