DD Form 1249, SAAM or JCS Airlift Request. This form is used to request a dedicated “Funded” aircraft. NRA, Non-Revenue Airlift Request. Synonymous with Opportune or Space Available Airlift. This type of request is submitted through the Major Command Validator. A list of validators can be obtained from USTC at DSN: 779-1333. SMS, The Single Mobility System. A web based tool established by US TransCom and adopted by AMC, AFRC and the ANG as the primary tool for mission planning and scheduling of all airlift within the Defense Transportation System.
