  4. My achievement • Studying abroad - cost time and money - double amount of studying - get extreme stress • Wide view - influenced my character - lead me to feminism

  5. My Given Environment • Limited culture Since 1392 : Joseon Dynasty -Samgang: three basics *obedience -Oriune: five duties *loyalty *distinction *superiority *faith *obedience

  6. The Given Environment • Fixed conception of women -mentally unripe - same level of hierarchy with children • Brain wash Parents: controlled the way to play dress up “like a girl” teach “girls manner” School: divided programs for boys and girls

  7. Feminism • Movement to achieve women rights • Claim the equality between gender • Peaked in 19th century

  8. Anne Hutchinson • 1591-1643 • Exiled by religious judging • asserted freedom of religion and women

  9. What she did? • Free preaching to either women or black people • Never assent from pressure

  10. Evaluation • Not totally success However, the conception and her action regard for feminism • Impellent power with strong persuasion • Early activist for woman right

  11. Sojourner Truth • 1797- 1883 NY • Abolitionist of slave • Feminist

  12. What she did? • speeches for woman and slave rights “Ain’t I a woman?” -Tells the equality -The ability to do whatever same as like men

  13. Evaluation • ability to take sympathy out from others • Indicating the society problem at the position of slave

  14. Common factors & Evaluation • Personality: bravery, strong speech • Same gender • Suppressed by similar society: male chauvinism • Never assent the conception by the environment
